All Saints Church |
All Saints Choir | HACA | Lectors | Pastoral Care | Prayer Chain | Ministering to the congregation through the gift of music, the All Saints Choir sings the first and third Sunday of each month, from September through June. Under the guidance of Choir Director Steven Marking, the choir at All Saints is gaining a reputation as an accomplished ensemble, taking on both traditional hymns and more challenging pieces. Anyone wishing to join the choir, or inquire about any aspect of singing in the church, should contact our Music Coordinator, Andrew Hanerfeld, at 686-5153 or andy524@hughes.net Lectors at All Saints serve a very important role in the liturgy. Aside from reading the lessons and leading the psalm, lectors also great people at the door and assist the priest with the chalice at communion. If you are interested in becoming a lector, please see Fr. Gary or Margaret LeStage. If you are not able to assist on your scheduled Sunday, its your responsibility to find your replacement. If you are unable to find a replacement, please contact Margaret LeStage . The Hoosick Area Church Association maintains a Food Pantry to help meet the needs of the community. As Christ calls us to feed the hungry, All Saints members are asked to bring non-perishable food items to the Sunday Service. A Church volunteer delivers our contributions each week to the HACA Food Pantry. Periodically, All Saints parishioners participate in other HACA sponsored community activities. For more information, please contact Fr Gary or Roberta Breese. As Christians, we affirm and celebrate the power of prayer to heal, console, guide and support us. The All Saints Prayer Chain is committed to praying with you for your needs, and rejoicing with you when prayers are answered. To request prayers, or to join the Prayer Chain, please contact Sandra Phelps at 518-686-5326 or sphelrdh@hotmail.com For those with special needs or who are unable to come to Church, we will gladly arrange private visits, counseling, or administering of Holy Communion. Please contact Fr. Gary at the parish office at 686-9037 or email him at fatherstrubel@yahoo.com The All Saints Sunday School meets Sundays at 9:15 AM beginning on 17 September. Our Sunday School class is lectionary based and offers activities suited to a broad range of ages. The program provides age-appropriate encounters with the bible, and follow-up activities for various ages and learning styles through arts and crafts, music and writing. The multi-age setting offers a unique opportunity for sharing across ages. Participants can engage in self-directed learning, discovery, discussion, and creativity. The setting builds a sense of community. Naturally less structured, the class uses materials that allow a boarder choice of activities. This year we are wondering about the Holy Trinity and will explore it through painting, singing, drawing and dramatics. Our goal is to see the hand of God in our lives and in the lives of others. During the 2006-2007 Sunday School year, we will be introducing elements of Godly Play. This methodology combines the tradition of orthodoxy with the creativity of play to integrate what are often thought of as opposites to make room for God to become manifest in the community of children and adults. For more information about our Sunday School class, and/or if you are interested in teaching Sunday School, please contact Cynthia Marking at 686-0972 or by e-mail: Cynthia@aiArtists.com
